I WANNA PAINT

I am being forced to make a lot of changes in my Etsy shop.  AND...as I work along I can see it
is LONG overdue.  So many "wrongs" and no explanations so it looks as if I will be busy for
quite awhile....but worth it in the end.

Then there's Income Tax preparation.  Transactions to run.  Adding to do. along with normal
everyday life.

AND I WANNA PAINT.

So, as I sit here doing what must be done before what I want to do I am taking notes.

I want to use a COLOR PALETTE of:
Paynes Grey
Purple
Green
Pink or a Coral/Salmon
White to Lighten Colors of Palette
Bronze or Gold Line-work

I want the Subject matter to be:
A Landscape

I want to Use a canvas I was playing with that has some polymer clay and rubber stamping up one side and I am thinking a stencil.  Butterfly, dragonfly, floral .....  and will use acrylic paints.

Wonder what else will come through as I sit here working?

CJORIGINALS.ETSY.COM Gemstone & Gemstone Jewelry

My sister (Cindy) is selling and adding gemstones, and gemstone jewelry to her Etsy site on a
weekly basis.  She has some gorgeous, unique, gemstones that are said to be spiritual and healing
depending upon the stone, and sometimes the color.  This is a place pink, clear and white Dragon
Vein gemstone.  She has a good selection...  I have heard that the right person will be drawn to the right stone that is needed in their life.

Beginning Intuitive Art

I guess this is going to be a mixed media dimensional project.  I am just beginning and believe me when I say I have NO idea where I am going.  I am just "doing".

This evening I worked some more on it so will add another picture soon.   I find myself "wandering".  Picking up things that "might be what I need".  It is one of those cases where you just kinda "wander" mentally and physically and pretty soon you have a pile of "stuff".  I may not use it....but then again I may.  I am not going to "force" the piece I am going to let it lead me wherever it is I am to go...

The face is a mold I made out of a 2 part molding compound.   I probably should have sanded it a
bit more after I took the clay out of the mold and after baking....but I didn't ;  so evidently it was not
a necessary step for what I am doing...so I am not going to "sweat it" just yet.

The paint is a "new" paint for me .... coming from a  decorative paining painting background I have a lot to learn...about different paints, new paints, and this one looks blue and green depending how the light hits it........but what I do like are the technique and product knowledge I gained along the way that is hopefully going to come in handy on this piece.    I have also used Ivory Black (thank you Linda Benton Mccloskey).  I have learned about the uniqueness of this color from one of your tutorials with something you said about the different colors that can come out of this particular color....... and then Lamp Black to do some shading where I felt it was needed after base coating.

I learned a lot too from taking an online class with Whitney Freya.  Then another couple of classes with Ree Altavilla and Flora Aube.  Sometimes I get an idea, learn a technique (I LOVE techniques), a new way to do something, a paint application......I never know what I will learn, but I KNOW I will learn "somethings".

So stay tuned for Session II. with a photo or two....

SESSION #2        GATHERED ITEMS
In the bottom photo I have added some silver beads here and there in the headless portion.  And am pretty sure I am going to used the Color I have laid here.  I do not like the eye area...so want to keep this area in mind...  I have some material, parchment scrapbooking paper, a canvas, wood beads, a strip of rhinestones, and some silver scrapbooking paper.  Tonight.....I will be adding some color.

SESSION #3.

Painted the canvas board a complimentary blue mixed with Golden Iridescent medium
and glued the parchment map
(Scrapbooking paper) on top.
I am liking the atmospheric look behind the map.
Not sure what will be next, but I am letting this dry overnight.  I am thinking that I want to preserve what is done so far so I am thinking that I will seal.  I know that I want to add a dimensional layer but I am not sure how this will happen.

Session #4.

Tonight was an OMG what is going on?  This is horrible.  And I remember and know
that during an artistic journey there can sometimes be stages of UGLY....but this is ridiculous.
Normally, I would just get huffy and throw it away......but with this I am going
to go on.......realize it is what it is and that it is not the "end" but a new beginning when I step back
into my studio tomorrow.  Maybe some angel happenings will occur tonight
while I am sleeping.  Yea, right.

All I know is that I DID NOT expect THIS.

Used a StencilGirl stencil.....Silver and black molding paste.  I just keep moving the face around...   and I am wondering if it will even "belong" to this piece of art.   Need Fresh eyes.

SESSION #5.

I sanded down some of the Modeling Paste since it set up and am a bit happier...there is texture but no edges.  Connected Trees....and now I am adding the foils.  Not done with all of the trees yet but done for tonight.

A few months ago I took an online class called Soul Blossoming and never had any intuitive success with my first piece so now I am wondering if this is where this piece is going.  Gives me a funny feeling of wonderment questions.

NEARLY DONE.

This is the latest progression.  It is nearly done.  Only one more thing to add and then the frame which I have had and I think it is perfect for this piece.

I wasn't happy with the circular portion of the piece.  Now I am.
Fried CD's.....  and I wanted them placed a bit abstractly.  Spent a lot of time on this step trying different things, different arrangements .  Tomorrow I will have photos of the finished piece.

DONE:

Crocheted Fingerless Gloves

I am in the process of crocheting fingerless gloves for my daughters store.  This was my first pair.
The instructions are not right and/or needed to be altered so now I can get on with some prettier ones.   These are a bit too heavy, and this particular type of variegated yarn doesn't work as you can see.  u

I have chosen a lighter weight yarn in the JEANS line for the pair I am working on now and I love the way they are turning out.  Much softer, and still as warm.   I had to change to a much smaller hood, making the cuff portion a bit longer,  and am sewing together differently than the purchased instructions.

With my next pair I will write my own instructions so I have them to follow .......

Narcissist Truths

When I read a post that confirms my suspicions ...I have to share in hopes it will make the light come on for other victims and or survivors still needing confirmations to alleviate some of the guilt, and self esteem issues they suffer thinking it was them...and not understanding fully the craziness of Narcissism and the narcissist.  Here in  just one big sentence they realize and can SEE another
truth....vs the illusion....the veil the narcissist wears... but sometimes their excitement in achievement gives them away once you go back and relive the situation(s).

This is SO the truth and it feels so good to KNOW that someone else has also had the same
experience and has shared it to help someone like me.  I even can look back and see how certain things were "set up" how it was achieved and the innocent participants...along with the look of satisfaction on the perpetrators face as she realized "success"  and that portion of her play had just had a standing ovation of success.  When these "episodes" would happen with me and I looked in her direction, my intuition was screaming  DANGER.   A look only a victim would be able to go back and realize ......

I feel so sorry for the participants....because they are still in the dark and have yet to "wake up" to some embarrassing realizations.   And...there is nothing I can say, or can do, that would make sense to them ....  for them to realize the truth.  Why?  Because it is craziness.  CRAZINESS.

Intuitive Shorthand

For the past few years I have been doing what I refer to as "Intuitive shorthand. "   I use it with photographs I take, art pieces I create, and to help me go inside...instead of using my mind.

The pre requisites are:
A meditative State.
A journal
A quiet spot where you won't be disturbed
Soft music with no words to distract
Low lighting
I burn some Paulo Santo *holy wood
Clear my mind of any thoughts
Close my eyes
Get comfortable
Begin

I then begin listening for words or a phrase to  come through.  I don't hurry the process.
When the words don't come any more I end my session.

After I write a word or a short phrase, i close my eyes again until the next word emerges, etc. till done.

After the session. or maybe a few days later I take the listing of words I have written in the order they were written
and as QUICKLY  as possible ; with no mindful thoughts,  I create an intuitive recall.  The most important aspect is to write as quickly as possible adding connecting words as they come forth.

I have also created using photos..... One year it was a photo book of photos I had taken of Mt. Shasta area with words that came in meditation while I was at The Meadow.

You might take an art piece you have created and do the words and then the recall....  What comes forth is deeper than the surface and exciting.

HERE ARE MY WORDS AND THE RECALLL CONNECTED TO THE PICTURE I POSTED.

NATURE
PRICKLY
SEEDS

DYING TO REBIRTH

Hats

I am working on some crocheted hats for my daughter and son in laws'  store.  The woven material is sari silk material on the left and a silk texture type yarn on the other.   They are quick and easy....a nice break for a few days before I go back to my clay on canvas pieces that are waiting on my table in my studio.  Speaking of which...stay tuned for the most recent piece...found the perfect size shadow box .... anxious to get things secured together and see if it is "done" or if I still have work to do on it.

Clay/Canvas Wall Hanging

10.14.19
THIS IS WHERE I AM NOW.  ANOTHER CANVAS BOARD THAT I MESSED UP WITH THE PAINT AND THEN SIFTED FINE BLACK GRITTED SAND ON TOP OF THE WET PAINT.  YOU CAN SEE FAINT SHADOWY CASTS OF COLORS BENEATH THE SAND.  THEN I CUT SOME COPPER WIRE MESH AND ADDED 3 STRIPS.  I DON'T LIKE THE MAT....BUT THIS ISN'T FINISHED YET SO IT MAY BE AND UNMATTED PIECE OR SOMETHING I HAVEN'T EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT....INTUITION IS CRAZY SOMETIMES.  STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THIS PUZZLE.  PUZZLE....MAYBE I NEED TO WORK IN SOME PUZZLE PIECES.
THI
Sands of the Nile
Sifting Sands
The Sands of Time

I HAD NO IDEA WHERE I WAS GOING WITH THIS PIECE.  I  TOOK A BALL OF CLAY AND BEGAN MOVING IT AROUND A SMALL CANVAS BOARD.   BAKED IT AND JUST BEGAIN WORKING ON IT.

IT IS NOT DONE YET.

I WILL ADD PHOTOS AS I PROGRESS.

I LIKE THE TEXTURE I GOT INTO THIS PIECE USING BLACK SAND THAT I PICKED UP AT DOLLAR TREE...A NEAT PLACE FOR OUT OF THE BOX ARTISTS.

Intuitive Art ..... Wall Hanging Canvas, Clay and Rubber Stamps

I love the colors of Nature.  I think I also used gold    foil on this small piece.

Soul Necklace

JEWELRY WITH SOUL

I have been working with some rubber texture plates from Russia, face molds using Polymer Clay (white) ,  and making jewelry with soul.   The painting technique was inspired by Paul Bozzo's adapted to smaller surfaces than he uses so modifications and learning with a lot of mistakes were encountered.   I am using different brands of paint dependent upon the colors I have chosen to use.
The beads are handmade lamp work beads and the chain material is nylon cording.
Years ago I took this picture after a summer rain of my peony and when I dowloaded and looked I was amazed at the facial feature which appeared inside.  This photo is totally untouched and has been the inspiration for my soul jewelry and wall hangings.

Photo #1 is the stencil I used to create Photo #2.

It is a canvas board which I had poured on and it wasn't anything special in outcome so I used it with TCW Modeling Paste to create the raised design and words.  The clarity of the transfer words; especially with the paste was a surprise ...  I sell both TCW stencils and modeling pastes as well as Stencil Girl Stencils.   The stencil here is Conversation with Matisse.  It is 9 x 12 inches.  I will look for a frame and mat as well to hang in my studio.

Rune Relic Necklace and Bracelet Set

I made a mold for the facial focal.  The beads are hand made lamp work beads from a lamp work artist in Washington state and a nylon cording chain.  Unique, one of a kind set.

Cobweb Faux Stained Glass

I saw photo #1 in a catalog ....  actually several times and wanted to give it a try so photo #2 shows the beginning.  I have used the leading strips by Plaid and now I am ready to begin filling in.    There are plastic texture sheets that I am going to use with the clear paints to put in the cobwebbing....  I am sorry to see they don't sell them anymore.  I used a release and the paint peeled off easily when the paint was dry to cut and place where I want each to go.  I have a feathered glass and a crackled glass along with a ridged glass texture mold.  For some reason these paints give me a sore throat so I would recommend using a mask of some sort.  Stay tuned for the finished piece.

The Flying Witch Spinner Ring (Kinetic Art)

I have had these silver (lead, nickel and zinc free)  adjustable spinner rings for quite a while.  Saw these witch charms and thought how much fun to make some flying witch rings.  Hopefully I will get one listed on Etsy tonight.  I also have some other charms that are theme oriented so that I can make a variety of different charmed rings.
The dome part of the ring is 1 1/8" in diameter.

You can customize the ring your way by unscrewing the nut on the mandrel to do one for Christmas, or geared toward a hobby or profession...  OR...you can keep it just as it is and add a drop of glue into the nut to make sure you don't loose your witch.

If you're looking for some awesome charms, jewelry making supplies, lamp work beads and
handmade wood signs etc.  see www.houserhousecreations.com

Keep tuned....

HALLOWEEN VASE POUR

I have used Liquitex, Flood, Golden and Elmers for pouring medium.  My favorite is the Elmers Glue.  It gets me the closest to what I want.  Sometimes I get some texture, and i love what the Elmers does on the glass giving me several different sizes of cells.    So at least for my glass pours I will stick with my Elmers .....  I am working on some orange, black and white Halloween vases.

Halloween Intuitive Collage DONE

Sometimes it is just fun to not care .... to just sit and play.  I am sure my daughter will have a Halloween spot at her store so I decided to play around with some stencils, Black molding paste,
and a pour I did on canvas where it just was a painting and was the perfect size and color for a Halloween collage.  I am not sure if it is done or not...I am wanting to do more I think so I will take a look tomorrow and I can be thinking about it during the day.   For some reason I want to put some gauze on....maybe as the skeletons garment.  All I knew when I started was I wanted Halloween...so I got out my Halloween ones, spider webs, the black modeling clay....and just began.  I am pretty sure I have decided to hand this with some black chain....but who knows?  Will post it finished....

FINISHED.  I JUST HAVE TO PURCHASE AND ADD SOME BLACK CHAIN FOR HANGING.

INTUITIVE ART

This is the last stage of a pair of focal pieces designed for necklaces..  I used polymer clay and a couple of rubber stamps, as well as some plastic molds that I purchase from a Russian clay artist.
Also used were various colors, and various brands .... I pull randomly.

Paul Bozzo is a fantastic artist who applies layers of color to his designs so I wanted to see what would happen with clay, and smaller items.  A definite challenge but a learning one.  The only way to get where you're going is to get started.

In certain areas I love the way it almost looks as if this was a carved bone with color(s) added here and there.  After I applied the final finish coat and it was dry I buffed the pieces with a soft cloth to get a more natural look instead of it screaming CLAY.....

Now,  I am looking through my bead stash to find what I am looking for that I don't know I am looking for because I won't know what I want until I see it..

Check back to see the finished design.

                                                             So Intuitive art.

I see so many different artists out there and I LOVE what I see them doing....how they achieve what they want to achieve when they don't have a lot to go on until the piece progresses.  I see abstract Intuitive,  spiritual intuitive, and I am sure I will find more and more adjectives used the move I explore.    The artists'  I have see thus far are simply amazing...and I sit in awe.  To be a the type of intuitive painter I think I am striving for is in my head and I need to get within thethe surfaces I am working on.   The intuitive part comes in because all of this is a brand new journey for me.  And it is exciting.  And I have no idea where it is going.

When you see techniques, moves, colors or tools another artists uses they make it look incredibly  easy, so random, so uncomplicated...so matter of fact.....but it is more than that.  There is color, balance. movement, a statement made or silence, mood, association, eye stoppers, size, etc.  All of that;  in my opinion, is what takes a piece of art to that next step of completion and how you accomplish the look you want.

I am grateful that back in the day when I did decorative painting I primarily took classes in which I could learn a new technique.  Stippling, thatching, a special brush, a new line of paint, an embellishment, etc.  Also when I took classes I watched what the teacher was doing  and how she was doing it.  Some artists some do things instinctively, without thinking and sometimes those are the most important things to learn.  When I watch a video...I watch it the first time with no sound, then I listen to what is being said...and even play a guessing game as to what the teacher is going to do next, or what I would do at that stage in the non talking mode.

So what are you doing in your art that makes YOU an intuitive painter?

Intuitively yours........

Hand Designed Necklace Display by: HouserHouseCreations.com

These jewelry displays were designed and made for me by my daughter owner of Houserhousecreations.com with her husband Chris Houser.

My birthday gift this year.  I don't have a "logo" but I really like this one a lot and am
thinking I need to order my next set of business cards with her design.

Let her design some for you...

Rubber Stamp and Polymer Clay

Using this method of color application I am not sure just how it will turn out.  At least one more layer of color to go.  I am just learning and playing.....  Not sure if this will be 2 separate necklaces or one with 2 elements.  My first layer of color was Yellow Oxide.  My second layer of color was Phalo Blue and Phalo Green.   Between each layer of color is a layer of Gloss brush on finish coat.  Inspiration for the color layering:  Paul Bozzo.   I "think" my third layer is going to be Diox Purple and Burnt Umber....but that could change.    I used several different rubber stamps.

I will be back to show the 3rd coat and then the final necklace.  Stay tuned.

OK.  The photo above is my last "coloring step" and there is a slight difference but not a lot.   But it gives me insight into what "I" need to change.  Everywhere I look I see inspiration....that's not the problem or is the problem because I have to figure out what I want my art to look like.  SO...
now it is scouring for beads that work....    The finish coats are done and I just want to sign and date the backs.

Next:  Dress Rehearsal.

Moon Protective Mirror Necklace on Etsy

Do you work where there are co-worker personality issues?  Been around people who seem to propel negative vibes?  Maybe a relationship with a narcissist?  Are you empathic and other's issues seem to effect you?

In reading a book on Narcissism there was mention of wearing a mirror to reflect negative vibes back onto the perpetuator a sort of instant Karma.  A sort of protection, security, confidence, or just a feeling of well being.

I decided it was worth a try as I worked through recovery and I was surprised at the confidence it provided and I wasn't as fearful.   Just the mental feeling of protection, even as simple as this necklace seemed to help me venture into the public and feel as if I had a type of protection.

In my Etsy shop I have brass and silver mirror necklaces for sale.  If it has helped me...maybe it will also help others.  This is my intent.

IN THE SEARCH BAR ONCE IN MY SHOP IF YOU TYPE IN DP ONLY MY HANDMADE ITEMS WILL COME UP.  IF YOU TYPE IN DPDIY ITEMS I HAVE MADE THAT CAN BE USED TO MAKE YOUR OWN PIECE OF ART WITH COME UP.
