RECKONING (Mixed Media Intuitive Painting)

The more I worked on this mixed media piece the more I knew there was a story....so I sat down and wrote just words. The next day I took the words and as quickly as I wrote the words the story unfolded.  The words and the story are done with no thought process...a technique I learned in a class I took a couple of years ago.

When you write the story you use the words in the same order as you wrote them.  

When I finished the story and went back and read what I had written I was amazed.  Definitely an intuitive piece from start to finish.  It may not mean anything to you the reader, but to me it

said a lot....If it resonates with you....Bless You.

Pour and Stencil Fun

Without even thinking ... I forgot to take a picture of the canvas poured board before I applied the first stencil....so here it is at stage #2.

The background pour was done several weeks ago so I have no idea what colors I might have used but I am pretty sure I used Grey, White, Teal and Green.   The brands would be what I had on hand.

Tonight I am going to apply the next stencil and will continue to update with photos until completion.
I have no idea where this is going, or how it will turn out at this point.  I just work step by step with no plans, no colors in mind, etc. until I sit down to do it.

The stencil pastes I am going to use with the next stencil will be from TCW Platinum, White Pearl and the Black Forest Green...   The stencil is in place and waiting for me to get down to have some fun.  

I used two different stencils tonight.  The one in the upper left hand corner and the one down the right hand side and bottom.  She is not done.....

DONE:  She is framed and as far as I know right now completed.  I used more stencils and modeling paste, did a finish spray (Matte) and sprinkled on some Glamour Dust for bling.

Poured Necklace Black Wings

There has been some intuitiveness to the last few pieces of art that I have done.  This is a pour dip necklace I did and then made a necklace and bracelet using handmade lamp work beads...Not a planned design...that's for sure....but fits.

I really like the way this came together.  OOAK..  The Czech beads glow like fire when the light hits it.    Done in copper findings which are made here in the USA.  I never know how something will turn out which is half the fun.  The pour was one on a ceramic focal.

Bad Pour / Finished Fix

This was a bad pour/swipe with white.  I textured it and although it is pretty ugly...it just might have potential so the journey begins.

This was finished from the first photo using some shedding and highlighting, several stencils, black modeling paste and I had the perfect frame in my stash to bring out the little bit of gold in the pour.

Color Ful Pour

For whatever in the world reason I painted the canvas orange before I poured.  It fits with my life right now so I can identify with the intuitive aspect of abstract free form art.

Pour with Stencil Face

Last night's art.

The Canvas was a run off dip from a pour.  I liked it but it just wasn't "anything".  I wish the color would show up more.  Varying shades of blue and charcoal.... and I added glitter when the paint was wet and in cure mode.

I just got this stencil Saturday and decided to give it a try using DecoArt Charcoal paint.  It is hard to see exactly where to put the stencil that works best but I am pleased with the result....

The piece shows up a lot more distinct in the photo than in real life..... and I am not sure which I like better ...  It definitely looks dimensional and am afraid if I darken I am going to loose this....

I have a couple of skeleton stencil which might be nice too....and a Ganesh.  I am enjoying the process journey I am on.

Woodland Nights

I love these 3 pours....  I will use these colors again.  The write was thicker so it gave me the bark effect....  Nice to know.

I have never worked with stencils in years but love the way they can enhance a dip pour.  Especially

like the first one that was a total dud until it was stenciled.  

I sell the stencils on my Etsy site and the new Dynasty Duo red handled stencil brushes are WONDERFUL......  Good tools are so important with art.

Pour Dipped Porcelain Necklace

A very simple, but pretty porcelain dip poured necklace done with run off.  I LOVE this part of my pouring session.

I just ordered some more of the porcelain blanks and will be doing some more.

Poured Vases

Pour painting, and all that can be done with the technique, is addicting.  I am a tight painter and this is about the only way I can get loose....

These are the 3 latest vases that I have poured and I am pleased with each one of them.  Each side looks different.  They look so nice with the tiny fairy lights inside.... and the missed areas allow the lights to shine through so it is something I really try to purposefully have happen.

Pours with Stencil Application

Unfortunately not all of my pours turn out the way I want them to so they make great play pieces.
I sell different sizes of stencils in my Etsy shop and haven't had the time to play with them...so last night was my planned play date.

  I love all three of them but especially the one in the middle.  All are  done on 4" x 4" canvas panels.   So far I have not encountered any warping with the smaller board canvas pieces which are my preference over the larger pieces.

My canvas pieces are hand wrapped artist grade canvas boards which are available  in a variety of sizes.  They "pour" so much nicer than the nubby grades.

I also used the new Dynasty Duo stencil brush....AWESOME......  I had some bleeding with the leaf stencil but that was my fault .... I had washed my brush and did not towel dry it well enough before I used it....  Lesson Learned.

It is great to have an alternative choice when a pour is less than desirable ....

Canvas Pour Dip Necklace

Everyone is going big it seems so I decided to go the other way.....  This is a dip on a small 2 x2" canvas.  I have to find something for the back so will be scouring tomorrow.  This is the first one I have done in necklace form....and I love it.  For some reason my first thought is George Washington.  The beads are ceramic, handmade lamp work and bone.  The chain portion is knotted cording.

Have another one, different colors on my work table for another night.

The red handled brushes are the NEW DYNASTY High End Stencil Pro brushes.  For now I will carry the 1/4", 1/2" and 1" sizes.   The bristles are soft and flexible.  They deliver an even distribution of color with crisp edges and clean stencil images.

The bottom Brush is a DYNASTY IPC Brush.  Ink, Pastel and Chalk brushes.  The one shown is a flat blending brush which is full and WONDERFUL.  I will carry this in all three sizes.  Small, medium and large.

I have been using these brushes and others in the Dynasty line for about 8 years....I don't use any other brushes with the exception of an occasional speciality technique brush.

All of the lines are exceptional in quality, performance and finished piece of art.

Polymer Clay Necklace

Newly finished.  Polymer clay necklace using a texture roller.  The beads are handmade lamp work and Czech beads.  I painted Paynes Grey and then used a bronze metallic paint to embellish and brass spacers/clasp.

Landscape Guitar

I saw this on Facebook and just fell in love with it so this is my preliminary rendition.   I used a musical note stencil for the finger string area sideways.... It looks a little plain so I will use this one to play with....I have a longer canvas to do another which is a gallery wrap vs this canvas panel.   Just doesn't look "finished" to me.  Any ideas?

Acrylic Skin Ring and Necklace Set

I really liked this acrylic skin when it dried and I am pleased with the final result.  I will probably sell this set just with a simple silver chain for the necklace but it needs to dry a bit longer.

CBD RELIEF cream and Foot Neuropathy

I have foot neuropathy with various painful symptoms.  Feelings of Itching, burning, bee stings, needle pokes, aching, fever, swelling, coldness, sharp and dull pains, etc.  Those who have it know what I am talking about.  Sometimes just a few symptoms and sometimes all of them at the same time.

I take 500 and 750 mg of CBD twice a day (AM I use the 500 and PM the 750) which has alleviated all but an occasional minute of bee stings once in awhile in my big toe.

When the weather changes drastically (like now.... getting ready for another round of snow furries..) the foot aches a bit and up into my leg to my knee.  It is NOT excruciating;  just pain,  and it is the worst at night..and keeps me awake.

The brand of CBD I take has a cream called RELIEF which I use as separate applications.
1.   The top and bottom of toes,
2.   My heel
3.  Arch of my foot bottom
4.  Top of foot

For each area I use a SMIDGIN of the cream.  Just enough that it shows on my finger and rub in gently until absorbed.  Within 5 minutes I have relief and within 15 minutes the pain is gone and I just have a fuzzy feeling in my foot.  Sometimes the cream will last days, sometimes I use twice a day and others once, at night.  It just depends on me, what I am doing, and what the weather is like.

BUT bottom line I get immediate relief.....and at night it is so wonderful....so wonderful.  A jar of the cream usually lasts me about 2 months...and in the summer much longer as I don't need it as much.

Along with the CBD RELIEF  also contains Tea Tree Oil which helps alleviate pain.
I use all of the products:  CBD oil, Face Cream and Serum with Retinol,  and the Relief.  They even have CBD oil and Biscuits for animals....  I give our little dog ONE DROP of the CBD oil every other day.

Crocheted Shoulder Shawl

I love the yarn for this item.  It is a grey, VERY pale pink and a lighter grey.  It looks vintage with the shawl collar,  warm, soft and comfy when worked up in this shoulder/arm size  which sometimes is all you want or need.  This one will go to the store but I went back and purchased enough yarn to make one for me but I am going to make a few moderations and make mine just a bit bigger.   My evening projects are mostly knit or crochet items.
The simpler the better.

Handmade Lampwork Rings

I have been making these rings for quite awhile and I really like the elegant simplicity of them.  The band is a nice quality vinyl, there is a little butterfly on outside and a beautiful pink flower as the focal.  One of my favorites.

Handmade Spiritual Cuff Bracelet

Tierra Cast has this bracelet blank with 6 random openings for charms.  The majority of the charms are also Tierra Cast and all the components can be purchased on Etsy at www.dragnsfyre.etsy.com.  I am anxious to wear it.  There are also small ancient type symbols on the outside of the bracelet form.

Wal Mart Gallery Wrapped Canvas / Pour

I took a photo of my original pour and sent it in to WalMart Photo Department on line.  I was apprehensive but what a FANTASTIC job they did.  In the post prior to this one you can see my original....not the best because it was a repair  but I loved the design.  Below is my 11" x 14" Walmart piece for under $30.  They carried the design around the edges and the backing is wonderful not to mention it is better than my original....the flaws don't show.  I am delighted....

Fluid Art

Last night I did some pouring.  This is a repair.  The first one was HORRIBLE so I scraped it off and using the same colors.......with the addition of black I poured again and I am thrilled.  It is done on a square canvas and I am going to have it duplicated on another canvas so I can play with it a bit without ruining this.  It is wet here but dried the same and tonight I will get a finish coat on it.  I don't see any silicone oil so I am pretty sure I am "safe".  Lots of people wait weeks and even a month to finish but I haven't had a result I didn't like.

This is a small canvas that I applied clay to.

I sculpted the mountain range,  used a small wood roller tree stamp (for sale in my Etsy shop) for the pine tree line and then used silver,  gold and charcoal paint for accents.

The clouds are painted.

Wisdom Crone Spirit Doll

I am not sure who the artist is but she has inspired me to make a large nature doll as part of my recovery process.   She will hang on my front or side porch and help to ward off the evil spirits that sometimes blow in the wind.  It has been a rough year...and I will be glad to see it go and 2019 meander in bringing protection, hope, and an awakened self.  

Today I am going to begin the face sculpture using polymer clay and I Have a basket where I am gathering elements that may or may not be used as I begin the construction the beginning of January. I have no idea where I am going, what it will look like only that it "will be".

I have a small notebook where I can sketch, write in information, things I want to look for, photos,  what I have learned from and during the process, and colors I want to use. etc.

I will continue adding information and pictures on this post as I add things....and begin my process.

I feel that the face is what should be created first and helps you to know how the rest of the doll should be brought to life.  I am going to sculpt mine myself but there are face molds you can purchase ....  human, moon, etc.    I use Etsy as much as I can when I purchase items as I want to support the other creative souls who strive to supplement their income vs big business.  If you want to make this doll truly yours and a reflection of feelings or a specific look you want to achieve...I strongly suggest sculpting the face yourself.
